Adolf Schroeder Obituary

Mr. Adolf Schroeder, age 94, of 4316 Lorenz Road, Two Rivers, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 13, 2018 at his son's home in Sheboygan.Adolf was born on February 1, 1924 in Lonschka, Poland to the late Karl and Emilie (Kronenberger) Schroeder, where he spent his childhood. At the age of 19, Adolf was inducted into the German military fighting on the Russian front, until the end of WWII. He was wounded and became a British prisoner of war. After his release, he worked at a sugar factory in Germany, where he met his wife to be Liesbeth. In April of 1952 Adolf arrived in New York after 12 days crossing the ocean to begin a new adventure in America. With this new beginning he established himself and then later had his wife join him.On March 5, 1955 he married Liesbeth "Liz" Milobinski from Germany at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Together they started their lives in Two Rivers. Adolf was employed at Mirro Aluminum and Paragon Electric before briefly moving to Milwaukee. Together they had two son's Harry born in Two Rivers and Robert born in Milwaukee. When living in Milwaukee Adolf worked for Patrick Cudahy. During this time, his dream was to buy a dairy farm. In 1961 Adolf bought an 80-acre farm on Lorenz road and began his dream as a dairy farmer. He also worked at Paragon Electric at this time while raising his family. A major accomplishment and proud moment was learning English and meeting the requirement of citizenship on May 1, 1967. He retired from Dairy Farming at age 62 in 1986. After retirement he pursued his passion of raising Belgium Draft horses.Adolf was proud to be an American. He loved a good challenge at a game of checkers. He also could be found tinkering on something around the farm.Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law: Harry (Rae Ann) Schroeder, Sheboygan; Robert Schroeder, Francis Creek; two grandchildren: Adam Schroeder, Bayside; Brooklyn (James) Justinger, Whitefish Bay; one great-grandson: Jaxson Schroeder; two great-granddaughters: Lilah and Cienna Justinger; two sisters: Blondine Brauch and Herta Witlieb, both of Germany, other nieces, nephews, friends and relatives also survive. He was preceded in death his parents: Karl and Emilie Schroeder; his wife: Liesbeth "Liz" on January 4, 2010; one brother: Fritz Schroeder; two sisters: Eugenia Stemke and Amanda Schroeder.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville. Pastor Randall Styx of Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, Sheboygan will be officiating with burial to follow at Kossuth #1 Cemetery. After service the family invites relatives and friends to gather for lunch at Redeker's Rustic Inn in Kellnersville.
