Carl Brugman Obituary

Carl R. Brugman, age 84 of Two Rivers passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at the Milwaukee V.A. Medical Center.Carl was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 14, 1933 to Edward and Francis (Olander) Brugman. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1973. While stationed in Landshut, Germany, he met the love of his life, Maria Fleischmann, whom he married on October 6, 1956. Carl served in the Vietnam War and retired as an Army Recruiter in Manitowoc. He was a past Commander and Manager of VFW Post #659 Otto-Oas in Manitowoc. His final retirement was from Transport America, Janesville where he worked from 1987 to 1995. Carl was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.He is survived by his daughters: Terrie (Truman) Seifert, Oconomowoc; Tina (Ed Kubichek) Curtis, Marinette and his son Walter Brugman, Janesville. Carl was truly blessed with five grandchildren: Angela (Tim) Wein, Oconomowoc; Erin (Jeremy) Schroeder, Oconomowoc; Tanya (Chris) Race, Alaska; John Jr. (Elizabeth) Kubichek, Two Rivers and Alicia Kubichek, Marinette. Carl had 11 great grandchildren: Noah, Kinsey, Trevor, Carson, Jackson, Layla, Zander, Ella, Holden, Mason and Riley. He was survived by many family members and close friends. His children, grandchildren, family and friends will miss him dearly and cherish many wonderful memories. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria, his parents, brothers: Charles and Albert and sisters: Bert and Betty.Carl was known for his wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it with everyone. His favorite pastimes were bowling, golfing, dancing with his wife Maria and spending time with his family.A private memorial service was held at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. With full Military Honors, Carl was laid to rest next to his loving wife Maria in the Veterans Garden of Honor at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Manitowoc.Memorials can be made to the Milwaukee V.A.
