Carmen Ryan Obituary

Carmen I. Ryan, age 95, of Manitowoc, passed away on Thursday morning, February 22, 2018 at St. Mary's at Felician Village, Manitowoc.The former Carmen Ida Lippert was born on September 25, 1922 in the town of Liberty, daughter of the late Fred and Ella (Pleuss) Lippert. She attended local area schools and graduated with the class of 1940 from Valders High School. On April 4, 1943 she was married to Charles "Huns" Ryan in Denver, CO. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2005. Carmen worked as a bookkeeper and tavern owner. She enjoyed golfing, reading and crossword puzzles. Carmen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills.Survivors include her children: Steve Ryan, CA; Greg (Rachel) Ryan, Sheboygan; Pat (Belinda) Ryan, Manitowoc; Maureen (Bob) Seering, Green Bay; five grandchildren: Ashley (JR) Fenner, Elkhart Lake; Brynn (David) Usadel, Plymouth; Erin Ryan, Madison; Jenna (Bobby) Anderson, Aledo, TX; Lauren (Dustin) Murphy, Monona; two step-grandchildren: Ryan Hynek, Milwaukee; Lindsey Hynek, Milwaukee; five great-grandchildren: Lance (Aleah) Ryan, St. Cloud; Augustella and Eden Anderson, Aledo, TX; Declan and Rowan Murphy, Monona; one great-great-grandson: Charlie Hamlin Ryan, St. Cloud; two sisters: Audrey Kugle, Manitowoc; Jeanette Pankratz, AZ, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Ella Lippert; her husband: Charles "Huns" Ryan; three sisters and three brothers-in-law: Gwendolyn (Alfred) Schmidt; Kathryn Lippert; infant sister: Marian Lippert; Roman "Buster" Kugle; Lee Pankratz; five brothers and four sisters-in-law: Elton (Seki) Lippert; Ervin (Jenny) Lippert; Kenneth (Leona) Lippert; Roland (Evelyn) Lippert; infant brother: Harold Lippert.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home led by Randy Meidl.
