Dorothy Ruzek Obituary

Dorothy Earline Ruzek, age 83, was peacefully called to her eternal home in heaven on the morning of May 15th. Family members were at her side in the house in rural Whitelaw where Dorothy had lived for more than 50 years.Dorothy was born on November 3, 1934 to her parents Leo and Beatrice (Pelischek) White in Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to Wisconsin when she was still in school, and Dorothy graduated from Valders High School and later received a teaching certificate from Manitowoc County Normal. She taught in public and Lutheran parochial schools for four years before marrying George Ruzek on October 4, 1958 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Gibson. The couple farmed near Kellnersville, and Dorothy did some office work. She was an active member of Rockwood Evangelical Lutheran Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and secretary of the Ladies Bible Hour for many years.The couple was blessed with 53 years of marriage and four children. Survivors include her children: Martin (Alison) Ruzek of rural Whitelaw; David (Alicia) Ruzek of Murrietta, CA; Paula Sanchez of Miami, FL; and Philip (Jayne) Ruzek of rural Manitowoc. Also included are 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many cousins and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband George in 2012, her parents Leo and Beatrice White, one brother Arnold, and her father and mother-in-law Joseph and Mary Ruzek.A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on May 25th at Rockwood Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 5805 County Highway R. Reverend Bruce Schwark will officiate. Relatives and friends may call on the family at the church on Friday, May 25 from 10 to 11 am. A memorial fund will be established in her name in lieu of flowers. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family with arrangements.
