Elaine H. (Olm) Youngchild, age 92, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 3, 2017 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.The former Elaine Olm was born on September 3, 1924 in the town of Rockland, daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Valleskey) Olm. Elaine was a graduate of Valders High School. On June 23, 1945, she married Jack E. Youngchild at St. Peters Ev. Lutheran Church in Collins. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1980. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1945. Elaine worked for many years at Shulander's Flowers. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: Jan (Linda) Youngchild, Manitowoc; her grandchildren: Sherrie (Todd) Dirkman, Wausau; Jack L. (Deanna) Youngchild, Manitowoc; five great-grandchildren: Jacob Dirkman, Wausau; Katelyn Dirkman, Minneapolis, MN; Zachary Youngchild, Milwaukee; Britney Youngchild, Madison; Courtney Youngchild, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Marilyn Zarn, Manitowoc, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Lillian Olm; her husband: Jack E. Youngchild; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Myrnabelle (Ernest) Sy; Florence (Harvey) Ruh; Ruth Olm; Audrey (Wallace) Prausa; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Karl Olm; Kenneth (Evelyn) Olm; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Charles (Verna) Youngchild; Marjorie (Norbert) Valleskey; Fred Zarn.Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with burial at the Knollwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family.
