Irene A. Rusch

Irene A. Rusch, age 94, formerly of 3714 Mangin Street, Manitowoc, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center of Manitowoc.The former Irene Anna Buck was born on December 27, 1922 in the town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Adolph and Hilda (Hoefner) Buck. On May 13, 1944 Irene was married to Elton O. Rusch at First German Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2001. Irene worked the family farm in the town of Cato for 20 years and worked at Valders Public School part-time. She also worked at Good Egg Poultry Farm for a number of years. She was a former member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and a current member of First German Ev. Lutheran Church. Irene enjoyed doing crafts, embroidering and crocheting. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Larry (Jean) Rusch, Renton, WA; one daughter and son-in-law: Lois (Dennis) Graczykowski, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Deirdre Rusch; Heidi (Brian) Mohs; Todd Graczykowski and significant other: Christine VanderBloomen; Mark Graczykowski and his fiancé: Sarah Gillespie; two great-granddaughters: Jaime Mohs; Emily Mohs; one sister-in-law: Donna Buck, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, family friend: Sue Kohlbeck Goeke, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Adolph and Hilda Buck; her husband: Elton O. Rusch; one brother: Leonard Buck; one sister and brother-in-law: Anita (Omar) Rusch; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Henry Streckert; Norbert Rusch; Viola Rusch; Cora Streckert; Dorothy Streckert.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Benjamin Schaefer and Rev. Christopher Hoppe will officiate with entombment to follow at the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials donations would be appreciated to First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc Lutheran High School or the donor's choice in Irene's name.
