Lilah A. Pleuss, age 95 years, one month and 6 days entered eternal life on January 28, 2018 at Harbor View Assisted Living, Manitowoc.Lilah was born in the town of Liberty on Dec 22, 1922 to the late Henry and Irene Eichmann Huebner. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty. Lilah committed to memory her Catechism verses in both German and English. She worked at Mirro Aluminum making shell casings for WWII. On Sept 18, 1943 Lilah married Arno Pleuss at Trinity Lutheran Church. For fifty years, they operated Pleuss Dairy Farm on Brunner Rd, Manitowoc Rapids. In 2004, they moved to Manitowoc. Blessed with 62 years of marriage, Arno preceded her in death in 2006. Lilah was a member of St John's Ev Lutheran Church (Newtonburg) and the Ladies Aid. She was a member of Shadyside Homemakers for many years, OWLS, and the Senior Center of Manitowoc. Lilah and Arno enjoyed extensive travels, dance club, bowling, cards and winters in Arizona. Lilah continued to play in several card clubs until the time of her death. Most of all, Lilah loved time spent with her family to whom she was devoted.In addition to her husband, Lilah was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene (William) Reinemann and Doris (Leo) Latasiewicz and brother, Omar Huebner.Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Joan Pleuss of Milwaukee; Kay (Kent) Meyer of Elkhorn; Lynn (Robert) Doneff of Egg Harbor; four grandchildren: Lance (Carrie) Meyer; Melissa (Matthew) Staude; Anton (Michelle) Doneff Sr.; Sarah (Brian) Bonovich; seven great-grandchildren: Luke and Joshua Staude; Anton Jr., Amelie and Elise Doneff; Niko and Lilah Bonovich; one sister-in-law: Pauline Huebner of Lake Havasu, AZ; nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 7531 English Lake Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Victor Headrick will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to St Johns Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc Lutheran High School, or charity of donor's choice. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
