Mabel M. Dufek

Mabel M. Dufek, age 93, of Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening December 5, 2017 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center of Manitowoc.The former Mabel Shupita was born on October 3, 1924 in Francis Creek, daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Sladky) Shupita. She was a 1942 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On December 28, 1959 Mabel was married to Wencel F. Dufek at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1999. Mabel was a secretary for the Manitowoc Engineering Company for 40 years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, lifetime member of the Manitowoc Senior Center and a member of the Western Fraternal Life Association, Lodge #142. Mabel enjoyed bingo and dancing.Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Emma Shupita and her husband: Wencel F. Dufek.Burial has taken place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc with a memorial service to be scheduled in the spring of 2018. In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated for Silver Lake College. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
