Mary D. Hastreiter, age 94, formerly of 10814 Morgan Road, Cato and currently a resident of North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2017 at North Ridge.The former Mary Dorothy Remiker was born on March 25, 1922 in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Stefl) Remiker. On October 9, 1943, Mary was married to Herbert J. Hastreiter at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1992. Mary worked as a baker for Branch River Country Club.Survivors include her three sons and two daughters-in-law: Robert (Susan) Hastreiter, Whitelaw; Donald (Shirley) Hastreiter, Cato; Jack Hastreiter, Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Scott, Steve (Kelly), Jason, Terry Lynn, Brad and Mike Hastreiter; one brother: Joseph Remiker, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph (Mary) Remiker; husband: Herbert Hastreiter; one granddaughter: Katie Hastreiter; four brothers and five sisters-in-law: Ed (Laura) Remiker; Herb (Katherine) Remiker; Elmer (Marie) Remiker, Sr.; Victor (Gertrude) Remiker; Mary Remiker; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Wilbert (Gertrude) Hastreiter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family.
