Mary Kohlbeck Obituary

Mary L. Kohlbeck, age 75, of 321 Truman St., Whitelaw, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc where she resided since January.The former Mary L. Meissner was born on August 5, 1941 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Menza) Meissner. Mary was a 1958 graduate of Reedsville High School and attended Oshkosh State College and the Manitowoc County Normal. On October 15, 1960 Mary was married to Jerome J. "Sonny" Kohlbeck at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Reedsville. Mary worked in the Syndicate Sales Department at Mirro of Manitowoc, Formrite Tube Co., Tecumseh Products Co. and retired after nineteen years at Manitowoc Cranes. After retirement, she worked part-time at Bud Willman's Restaurant in Manitowoc. For thirty years Mary and Sonny were in the tavern and restaurant business owning and operating Kohlbeck's Bar in Whitelaw. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and St. Michael's Christian Mothers. Mary enjoyed golfing, dartball, bowling and spending time at the cottage on Long Lake. She also enjoyed luncheon dinners with her family and friends, including the Classy Luncheon and the Trashy Ten. Mary especially enjoyed the time spent with her children and grandchildren.Mary is survived by her husband of how many years: Jerome "Sonny" Kohlbeck, Whitelaw; her children: Joseph Kohlbeck and Kim Biely, Appleton; Dave and Penny Kohlbeck, Reedsville; Steve and Faye Kohlbeck, Combined Locks; six grandchildren: Brianna Kohlbeck and her fiancé: Kyle Pierce; Rachel Kohlbeck; Minda Kohlbeck and her fiancé: Zak Peterson; Charles Kohlbeck; Marcy Kohlbeck; Seth Kohlbeck; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Elaine Lorrigan, Reedsville; Jean Laughrin, Chilton; Pat and Don Weber, Kellnersville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Leroy Kohlbeck, Appleton; Marvin and Sherry Kohlbeck, Pittsville; Eugene and Connie Schneider, Whitelaw; Diane Schuh, Collins; James and Connie Kohlbeck, Whitelaw; Jack and Pat Yohanek, Cato; Gary and Sandy Kohlbeck, Whitelaw, friends, nieces, nephews and other relatives survive including her god-children: Mary (Weber) Stadler; Ann (Lorrigan) Willman; Carol (Laughrin) Mallman; Chuck Licht; Neal Meissner and Dennis Waniger. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Lillian Meissner; her infant son: Thomas Kohlbeck; her step-father: John Sheehy; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harvey and Tillie Kohlbeck; one brother: Robert Meissner; one sister: Lois Licht; three brothers-in-law: Jack Lorrigan; John Laughrin; Jack Licht; three sisters-in-law: Audrey Meissner; Dorothy Meissner; Teresa Kohlbeck, also nephews and nieces.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 110 West Menasha Avenue, Whitelaw. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville and again at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a parish prayer service on Wednesday at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.comThe family would like to thank River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Heartland Hospice and especially their amazing friends and neighbors for always being there when needed.
