Barbara A. Rathsack

Barbara A. Rathsack, age 83, of Manitowoc, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019.Barb was born on December 3, 1935 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Bull) Wakley. She attended local area schools and graduated with the class of 1953 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On November 17, 1956 Barb married Donald J. Rathsack at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2000. Barb worked in Housekeeping at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for 20 years until her retirement. Barb enjoyed shopping, reading and traveling.She is survived by four children: Charles (Laurie) Rathsack, Two Rivers; Sharon Rathsack, Manitowoc; Ronald Rathsack and his Fiancée JoAnn, Manitowoc; Brian (Kathy) Rathsack, Reedsville; six grandchildren: Chad (Emily) Rathsack; Aaron Rathsack; Zachary (Kryssa) Rathsack; Collin Rathsack; Barry (Katrina) Buechner; Tyler Rathsack; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Vicki Rathsack, Manitowoc; Evelyn Schneider, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Leona Wakley; husband: Donald Rathsack; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois (Raymond) Polifka; Janice (Ron) Champagne; one brother and sister-in-law: Delmar (Elitte) Wakley.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Hope Community Church, Highway 310 and County Road B, Manitowoc. Pastor Jed Manders will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
