Dennis J. "Hin" Hynek, age 69, of Valders died peacefully at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, early Friday afternoon, December 22, 2017.Dennis was born on December 1, 1948, son of the late John and Mildred (Yohanek) Hynek. Dennis attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School and worked at Gabe's Construction and ran the family farm for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching Packer and Brewer games, cutting firewood, as well as shaking liar's dice when he socialized with friends.Dennis is survived by his brother, Jimmy, of Kellnersville and one special friend, Joan Schamburek, of Valders. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, John in 1997, and Mildred in 2013.Dennis was a simple man who had a favorite saying: "Be yourself and nobody else", and he lived by those words. No matter who he met or where he was, you always got a genuine version of Dennis. All of his friends will miss him and they can say for sure, they'll never meet another guy like Ole Hin.A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. David Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will take place at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
