Donna L. Brefczynski, age 89, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 27, 2018 at her residence.The former Donna L. Keune was born on June 19, 1928, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Roland and Ruby (Teteak) Keune. She attended local area schools and graduated with the class of 1946 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On September 16, 1950 she married Alois R. Brefczynski in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2002. She worked as a waitress for many years at the Elbow Room until her retirement. Donna loved to be around people, was a creative person and enjoyed sewing, knitting, working with wood and spending time at her cottage. She was an active member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law: Bruce L. (Kathy) Brefczynski, Manitowoc; Michael R. (June) Brefczynski, Oshkosh; Todd D. (Staci) Brefczynski, Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Jill (Tim) Olsway, CT; Beth (Jeff) Tueschl, Manitowoc; Justin Brefczynski, Manitowoc; Tyler (Brooke) Brefczynski, Oshkosh; Jared (Angelica) Brefczynski, Oshkosh; Chase Brefczynski, TX; three great-grandchildren: Megan, Grace and Griffin; two sisters-in-law: Carol Brefczynski, Manitowoc; Elaine Brefczynski, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Roland and Ruby Keune; her husband: Alois R. Brefczynski; one son: Scott Brefczynski; one sister; three brothers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc. Rev. Dr. Matthew L. Sauer will officiate. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
