Evelyn "Evie" Huletz of Maribel passed away early Wednesday morning, February 14, 2018 at the age of 101 ½.Evie Huletz was born on July 23, 1916, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Cherney) Tisler. She was born and raised in her parent's home which they built one year before she was born. Evie lived in one house for her entire life. On January 7, 1942, Evie married Clarence Huletz and the couple moved in upstairs at her parent's home with her mother living downstairs. Only six months later Evie's mother passed away from cancer at which time Clarence and Evie had the whole house to raise their family. Clarence preceded her in death on December 18, 1985 at the age of 69.Evie remembers buying her first car at the age of 17, a black Chevrolet Coupe with a rumble seat in the back. She worked at Larsen Canning Company and retired from Strauble Paper at the age of 65. Evie loved to travel across the U.S., she recalled having been to Alaska 8 times and Hawaii 4 times, Las Vegas, California, Maine, Kentucky Florida, New York and Tennessee just to mention a few states. She also enjoyed going on mystery trips stating she went so often that many times she went to the same places several times but never minded. Evie's hobbies included crocheting, playing cards and going gambling on local bus trips. Even Though Evie didn't hear the best and was legally blind, she loved living at home and was one amazing lady! Evie is survived by her one daughter: Mary Louise Neckvatal, Middleton, Wisconsin; and one son: Dale Huletz, Fairbanks, Alaska; 5 grandchildren: Dustin, Jill, Ben, James and Nick; 5 great-grandchildren; one niece: Mary Ellen (Bill Kane), Denmark, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters: Ana Kapitz and Viola Hoffman; one brother-in-law: Harvey Hoffman.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rev. Maurice Mmegbuadimma will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is assisting the family with arrangements.
