Frank Hlinak Obituary

Frank A. Hlinak, age 86, of Maribel, passed away late Wednesday evening, December 13, 2017 at his residence under hospice care with his loving family at his side after a courageous battle with kidney and heart disease.Frank was born on July 20, 1931, in Melnik, son of the late Frank J. and Lillian (Skarivoda) Hlinak. He was a 1948 graduate of Mishicot High School. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran serving from October 20, 1953 until October 19, 1955 and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Upon returning from service he continued to work on the family farm and started a 26-year employment with Mirro Aluminum Co. working his way up to supervisor. Frank was the clerk in the Township of Gibson for 37-years. In July of 1959 he married the former Beverly Mae (Doleysh) Karstaedt at the Melnik Presbyterian Church.Frank was a member of the American Legion Drews-Bleser Post #88 of Manitowoc where he loved serving in the firing squad for graveside services. He enjoyed old-time music, the Mishicot Summer Concert Series, his beloved Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Beverly M. Hlinak, Maribel; three children: Gary (Karen) Karstaedt, Mishicot; Mary (John) Zellner, Maribel; Lynn Hlinak, Clintonville; seven grandchildren: Andrew (Raquel) Zellner, Two Rivers; Amanda (Tom) Speth, Madison; Alex Zellner, Maribel; Cassanora (Aaron) Hoff, Platteville; Brian (Tasha) Karstaedt, Two Rivers; Melanie (Kelley) Thorne, Two Rivers; Alicia Schuette, Brillion; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Ruth Prochazka, Zander; two nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank J. and Lillian Hlinak; one son: Roger Hlinak; one daughter: Elizabeth Hlinak; one infant son: Thomas Hlinak; one brother and sister-in-law: Frederick J. (Phyllis) Hlinak; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Ada Mae (Clarence) Ahrens; Carl Prochazka; two infant brothers.Private family funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 1124 Main Street, Kellnersville. The Rev. Dr. Matthew L. Sauer will officiate with burial to follow in the Melnik Presbyterian Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the American Legion Drews-Bleser Post #88 of Manitowoc.
