Hermena Frances (Weber) Hartman, age 93, of Manitowoc, passed away early Monday morning, November 20, 2017 at Felician Village Villas, Manitowoc.Hermena was born on January 28, 1924 in the town of Franklin, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Kopidlansky) Weber. On September 2, 1944 she married Clarence "Jiggs" Hartman at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kellnersville. The Rev. Frank Swatek officiated. Clarence preceded her in death on March 27, 1996. Hermena enjoyed being a housewife and mother to six children, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and was a co-owner and the soul of Hartman's Greenhouse for twenty years before her son, Tom took over the business. She was known regionally for the quality of her flowers and vegetables. Customers would travel hundreds of miles to shop at the greenhouse. Hermena and Clarence loved to travel and visited many states as well as many countries in Europe in their early retirement. Her very favorite pastimes were dancing, doing crossword puzzles and going gambling. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.Survivors include one daughter and two sons: Carol (Terry) Bartelt, West Bend; Tom (Diana) Hartman, Manitowoc; Randall "Jiggs" (Claire) Hartman, Madison; one son-in-law: Ralph Thiel, Mountain View, AR; one daughter-in-law: Donna Hartman, St. Charles, IL; nine grandchildren: Julia Thiel, Mountain View, AR; Jill (Josh) Thiel Vilonia, AR; Jeanna Thiel, Mountain View, AR; Wendy Kloiber, Ashland; Holly (Mark) Dumproff, West Bend; Christina (Clay) McKiernan, Geneva, IL; Andrew (Jodie) Hartman, Lakewood, IL; Scott (Erin) Hartman, St. Paul, MN; Christopher Hartman, Manitowoc; great-grandchildren include: Aly Swiegert; Parker and Payton Wilson; Elizabeth Miller; Alexandria Eades; Jack McKiernan; Madeleine Dumproff; Layne Dumproff; Adelaide and Josephine Hartman; and Crosby Hartman; two sisters: Sr. Julianna Weber; Ann Pieters; one brother: Leroy Weber; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Anna Weber; her husband: Clarence "Jiggs" Hartman; two sons: Gary Hartman; Rob Hartman; one daughter: Anne Thiel; four brothers: Albert, Frank, Eugene and Louis Weber. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. David Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, with entombment to take place at Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund has been established in Hermena's name for Roncalli High School.
