Louis H. Ney

Louis H. Ney, age 92, of Francis Creek, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.Louis was born on May 9, 1925, in the town of Herman in Sheboygan County, son of the late Emil F. and Waleska (Stecker) Ney. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 17, 1949 and served his country until his honorable discharge from reserve status reaching the rank of Sergeant on February 19, 1954. On April 18, 1970 Louis married the former Ruth Carlson. She preceded him in death on November 16, 1980. Louis moved to town of Kossuth in 1936 where he resided the rest of his life. He worked for Swift & Company in Manitowoc and Green Bay for 35 years as a supervisor and Personal Manager until his retirement in 1983.Louis was a member of the Men's Club and ushered at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, member of both Manitowoc and Two Rivers Senior Centers, volunteered and was a member of the Two Rivers Historical Society and AARP. He loved out of state hunting and fishing, spending the winters in Florida and doing wood craft work. Survivors include two brothers and one sister-in-law: Clarence Ney, Green Bay; Harold (Jean) Ney, Shoto; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Frances (Gladwyn) Doughman, Shoto; Dorothy Ney, Two Rivers; one step-daughter: Carol Koch, Manitowoc; a special niece: Pam (James) Posvic, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Ruth Ney; two brothers: Nelson Ney; George Ney; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Helen (Rudolph) Bender; Evangeline (Alfred) Engelbrecht; Caroline (Norbert) Malchek; one sister-in-law: Violet Ney; three step-sons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. The Rev. Zachary DeArmond will officiate with entombment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be accorded at the church by VFW Otto-Oas Post #659 of Manitowoc. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Men's Club. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc assisted the family with arrangements.
