Margaret Wage Obituary

Margaret L. Wage, age 100, of Manitowoc, died early Saturday morning, June 16, 2018 at St. Mary's at Felician Village, Manitowoc.Margaret was born on September 8, 1917 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Louis and Gena (Peterson) Kraemer. She was a 1935 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On July 7, 1939 she married Karl Wage in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1972. Margaret was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Her great-grandfather built the First Norwegian Lutheran Church which later divided into First Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Norwegian Lutheran Church, later to be named St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Margaret was a member of the Faith Circle at St. Paul and the Sunshine Chairman of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing Sheepshead and Bridge.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Kathryn (Patrick) Mealy, Manitowoc; two sons and three daughters-in-law: Dennis (Deborah Hance) Wage, Castalian Springs, TN; David (Sandra Murzyn) Wage, Manitowoc; Susan Wage, Plover; eleven grandchildren: Michael Mealy; Shannon (Dan) McCarthy; Jill (Randy) Benser; Kelly Wage; Eden (Grant) Speros; Christopher Wage; Ashley Wage; Jonathon (Megan) Wage; David (Samantha) Wage Jr.; Hayden Wage; Margo Wage; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother: William Kraemer, Green Bay; former AFS student: Minoru (Emi) Nakazato and their children: Mari and Mao, Tokyo, Japan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Gena Kraemer; her husband: Karl Wage; one son: Douglas Wage; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Marion (Kenneth) Neubauer; Bernice (William) Zimmermann; one brother and two sisters-in-law: John (Emogene) Kraemer; Mary Kraemer.Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 2601 South 10th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Jim Wilson will officiate with burial of her cremated remains to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations would be appreciated in Margaret's name for St. Paul Ev.
