Suzanne Karrmann, of Manitowoc, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 19, 2017, in Neenah.She was born March 2, 1931 in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Paul and Lorraine (Murphy) Duex. Sue attended St. Mary's Grade School, graduated from Oshkosh High School and then received her Teaching Degree from UW-Oshkosh. She taught English at South Milwaukee High School for several years. It was in South Milwaukee where she met Paul Karrmann Jr., and they were married on June 15, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2003. Sue and Paul started their family in Blytheville, AR, while Paul served in the United States Air Force. They moved back to Milwaukee before settling in Manitowoc. Sue was a homemaker and took on the challenge of raising six boys. God knows she needed strength and he provided that to her!Sue was a very giving person lending a hand, and financial support, to countless people in the Manitowoc area. She was a founding member of Peter's Pantry, and worked there countless hours helping to provide to the less fortunate. Sue and Paul also spent years traveling to Oshkosh where they volunteered for Fr. Carr's Place 2B and also volunteering at Woodland Dunes Nature Center. Sue enjoyed knitting, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, attending all of her grandchildren's concerts, plays and sporting events, and spending as much time as possible in Three Lakes at her kid's cottage. Sue was a member of Holy Innocents/St. Francis of Assisi Parish for over 50 years where she led the Mass in song for many years.By a miracle she is survived by her six sons: Thomas (Mary) Karrmann, Fond du Lac, Michael Karrmann, South Milwaukee, James (Jody) Karrmann, Kimberly, Robert (Kimberly) Karrmann, Neenah, William (Heidi) Karrmann, Menomonie, Daniel Karrmann and his significant other, Debbie Shoemaker, Milwaukee; her AFS son: Fabien Debarre, Brussels, Belgium;13 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Steven, Joseph, Matthew, Lauren, Theresa, Jacob, Keira, Megan, Brianne, Paul, Jenna, and Kevyn Perkins; her sister: Mary Kay Dodson, Green Bay; her brother and sister-in-law: Steven (Kathy) Duex, Westminster, MD; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Pauline (John) Sporakowski, Stevens Point, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Sue was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Paula (Glen) Resheske; a brother and sister-in-law: Jim (Mary) Duex; a brother-in-law: Brooks Dodson; and Mrs. Virginia Gallagher.The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc, with Fr. Dave Pleier and Fr. Dan Felton concelebrating with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum. The visitation will be held AT THE CHURCH on Sunday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for Peter's Pantry in Sue's name. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements. They treated our mother with loving care and they will miss her almost as much as her family will. In honor of our mom, please do something kind to a stranger you meet today.
